Our Mistakes as Miracles

We tend to focus on what we call our mistakes in life. We tend to focus on what we call problems in life. I wonder how your life would be if right this moment, you began to call all of your worries "miracles". And to begin behaving and feeling and thinking as though all of your conflicts were "miracles". And asking, what gift does this physical or emotional pain bring me?

I remember the time I was so busy that I couldn't and wouldn't find time to start the book I wanted to write. I just couldn't fit it into my schedule. I kept saying I would get around to it. And then a miracle happened. I hurt my back so badly that I had to cancel my clients and plans for several days. I would have given anything if I could have undone what I did to hurt my back. It was during that time that I wrote Once Upon Eternity, the children's picture book that I hope will be soon published.

And then there are all the other "mistakes" I have made in my life. With a different vision I can see how each of those decisions and situations were instrumental in bringing me to where and who I am today. Without those "mistakes" my life would not be filled with the miracles I know and love.

So now I know that when I am in a situation or circumstance that brings me pain, I know that it is another miracle for me to accept and embrace. I know there is always a bigger picture and I don't even have to know what that is. Just knowing there is one is enough. And before I realize it, the situation shifts or changes with little or no efforting on my part.

I call that a miracle!
