Rachel
Rachel is my youngest granddaughter. She lives in Brooklyn Heights with her mother and father and older sister. Rachel was only a year and a half old when they went to visit friends in Vermont for the weekend. She had been playing past her bedtime on that Saturday night with her sister and her little friends when she fell against a sharp object, making a deep gash in her forehead. Quickly doing first aid and then rushing her into the car, I received a call from my son’s cell phone. It was 10:30 p.m. “Mom, will you send [Reiki] to Rachel? She has cut herself badly and we can’t stop the bleeding. She won’t stop crying and we are an hour away from the hospital.” Of course, I would. I began sending Reiki immediately and continued for the next 30 minutes when the phone rang again. “Mom, the bleeding stopped within a minute of my calling you. Rachel stopped crying and went to sleep. And now the cut is sealing back up. Stitches won’t be necessary. I am turning the car around.”
