A Trip to the Dentist and the Beach
A dear friend and Reiki practitioner sent this to me:
I had a wonderful dental experience again and thought i would share it with you. i had to have two teeth repaired which required deep drilling and possible root canals. i didn't have to have the root canals and am having two crowns. all the work with the injections, numbing and drilling was done tuesday.
i was so internally nervous (didn't realize i was) that when i got there (they always take my blood pressure) my blood pressure was 170/93 (should be around 120/70). the dentist wouldn't continue. i told her to let me relax a minute and it would be down. she didn't think so. i did Reiki and in a few minutes, my BP had gone down to 150/70 and continued down so they began work.
i told her i was going to the beach and she said because of the deepness of the drilling, there would be some areas that would hurt since she couldn't get both areas totally numb along the gum line. oh, the area started to hurt but i quick ran into the water and went back to the beach and felt nothing, no pain.
i decided to be very deeply involved with being at the beach. the whole appointment lasted about 4 hours and i felt i had been there less than an hour when it was finished. i was awake and could hear what they said and respond to their directions but went on vacation to the beach.
i started with the same place i have been previously at the dentist. she goes along with my vision since she said i was the most relaxed and patient patient she had ever had. she said things along the way about having my sunscreen on since the sun was bright that day when she turned the light on to see in my mouth better. she spoke of the waves and the sand at different times as she used water and was drilling. she would ask how i was especially at the time where it was painful and i would give her a thumbs up or an ok sign with my hands.
i was at the beach. when she would drill, i was, in my vision, drilling shells. i had gone out in the water and found the most beautiful sea shells. this was all i was setting up in my mind and then the vision, meditation, dream or whatever it was took over. i did not have to imagine anything. the only time i had to deliberately do any mental work was when the dentist would ask me something or tell me to move or open or close. then i would have to trace my steps back to the beach from the dentist office.
anyway, the vision took over and i was bringing back the seashells to a canvas i had painted with a beach/water scene. it was vibrant with color especially blues and blue greens. it had a wonderful driftwood like frame around it and it was very large and sitting on an easel on the beach under the shade of a palm tree. i had a table there and was putting the shells on it.
when my dental appointment was over. i was glad the time had passed so quickly. my dentist was so nice. she asked me how my trip was to the beach and i said i had enjoyed it. she said i was very still but responsive.
my friend emailed me the following a day later:
i really was so pleasantly surprised at the adventure i had. i look forward to my dental mental appointment on Tuesday. it is only a brief appt for impressions though so, won't have much visionary work.
since the appt. my mouth has not hurt, the nerve and tissue are not sore and i was able to eat and drink hot and cold without pain. thank you for the Reiki.
