Two Miracles; One Reiki
a few years ago I was spending most of my time in New York building my retreat center, returning to my Florida every few weeks for a few days to see clients. A friend that lived on the other side of the lake asked if I would treat her neighbor’s 13 year old daughter with Reiki. Doctors found a tumor growing behind her eyes and were going to perform exploratory surgery even though there was a better than average possibility that the girl would lose her sight just from the exploratory surgery itself. The parents hesitantly agreed for me to give their daughter a Reiki treatment, probably due to my friend’s enthusiasm, though they had never heard of Reiki.
The mother accompanied her daughter. I had the girl get on the table, put on some soft music, and provided a chair for the mother. My intention was to give her a full treatment. I began with the first head position over the eyes and after a few minutes when I went to move my hands to the next head position, only my left hand moved. The right hand wanted to stay over her right eye. My left hand knew exactly where it wanted to go. Knowing Reiki is much wiser than I am, I followed the wisdom of Reiki, staying in this new position for about 20 minutes.
The stereo switched to a new song that was not appropriate for giving Reiki treatments, so I left the girl to change the music. While doing so, she let out a gleeful scream. Unbeknown to me, the girl had no peripheral vision since infancy and now, all of a sudden, she was able to see her mother seated slightly behind and to the side of her. She was so excited that for the first time in her life, she could see peripherally.
After they settled down, I continued for about an hour with Reiki, only on the side and back of the head per my Reiki hands instruction. The girl reported later to her mother that she felt and heard a pop in her head while my hands were on the back of her head. I treated her a couple more times that week before I left to go back to New York. I asked the parents to please get another scan before having the exploratory surgery done. The parents chose not to because the insurance would not pay for another scan, but the insurance would pay for the exploratory surgery.
I received a call from my friend about a month later telling me that when the surgeon went in to take a look at the tumor, he found NOTHING.
